On Saturday, Santa made an early appearance this Christmas on the John Bunyan community boat, launching Christmas Festive cruises on the River Great Ouse in Bedford.

Santa made a surprise visit, wishing all on board a Merry Christmas and checking that his ‘naughty & nice’ list was up to-date for the big day! Fortunately, he did not need to make any amendments to the list for the children on board, and all looks good for the big night delivering presents.

The John Bunyan community boat was running its first Christmas Festive cruise since they began in 2013. Those on the cruise enjoyed a cup of hot mulled wine and mince pies along with hot chocolate for the children. Everyone had a merry time enjoying the Christmas lights from Sovereign Quay to the Embankment from the river, with festive Christmas music playing in the background.     

If you missed seeing us on the river and Santa’s surprise visit, we will be back on the river on Sunday the 19th December in the afternoon from 2.45 pm to 4.45pm. If you are down by the river on Sunday afternoon, please give us a wave, you may be lucky and see Santa if he makes another surprise visit, wishing everyone a merry Christmas before returning home to North Pole.
