Slide Record Shop, located in The Arcade, are the first Bedford store to participate in Record Store Day UK in the 11 years it has been running. On 21st April 2018, over 200 independent record stores in the UK came together to celebrate their unique culture.
Queues formed outside the store from 7am for special vinyl releases made exclusively for the day, with material from artists such as The Cure, Bruce Springsteen, Wolf Alice, Charlotte Gainsborough and Neil Young flying off the shelves. During the afternoon, Slide featured memorable live acoustic sets from local rockin’ quartet Henry and the Bleeders and AMAUK 'UK Artist of the Year 2018’ nominee Danni Nicholls.
Co-owner Warren said: “We have been so busy today, sales have been up and we have been so warmly received. People have continued their support by turning up for our live acts this afternoon.”
