1,000s Love Bedford for a day

24 July 2017

The second Love Bedford Day in the heart of the town centre was visited by 1,000s who enjoyed free fun and games.

Danger Mouse, a genuine DeLorean car, the Very Hungry Caterpillar, a roller rink, Iive animals from Urban Safari, ballon modelling and giant bubbles displays were on show. A Dr Who set and a roving Dalek were there too thanks to the Harpur Centre. In the Harpur Suite there were Handmade in Bedford and Heritage Bedford stalls and at the Castle Quay location a band and free face painting.

Christina Rowe, Director of the BedfordBID said: “Love Bedford is all about encouraging people to support local businesses. On this, the first Sunday of the school holiday season, we wanted to remind people to come on down to town this summer.”

That campaign continues until September with a free Where’s Wally trail with £100 worth of Love Bedford vouchers to be won. Full details on this, daily events and offers in the town centre can be found on lovebedford.co.uk

The Harpur Centre is celebrating its 40th anniversary and launched its birthday party by joining in the Love Bedford Day event. There are plans for more anniversary fun from August 10th - 12th.
