Stage craft, filming, singing and dancing opportunities are being made possible for performing arts students of Bedford College.
Media trainees already film the Bedford Borough Council and interview The Mayor on a regular basis, now other students are being lined up to gain centre stage experience.
New Director of the Arts at the specialist South Bank Arts Centre Toby Clark is reviewing a range of ways to put students in the spotlight.
Mayor of Bedford Dave Hodgson has invited Bedford College students to come up with ideas for events and art activities at the square at the Riverside North development opposite the college.
In addition Toby has been meeting with the team behind Love Bedford, the BedfordBID which represents 500 levy-paying businesses such as the The Standard music venue and more. In addition the Bedford Swan Hotel is talking about taking musical students on board at its riverside Terrace.
In the search for talent, Natasha Trudgill, Sales & Marketing Manager of the Bedford Swan and Sarah Cox, Editor of Beds on Sunday joined Toby at a “cabaret” night when students were the performers. The event was staged at the college’s tower block 5th floor restaurant “25” when performing arts students sang whilst hospitality trainees served up a super meal.
