Launched in the autumn of 2014, the Jagged Edge Barbers Academy combines training towards nationally-recognised qualifications with cutting-room floor experience, and a job offer for those who make the grade.
Sessions will be run at the Jagged Edge Bedford High Street venue, with education supported by Bedford College and its Brooks High Street-based training spa teaching staff.
Jagged Edge Barbers owner Zak Resinato, aged 27, said: “We have some exciting expansion news in the pipeline which will mean we will need more and more staff trained in our fashion.
“Thankfully Bedford College and its team have backed us all way and will continue to provide professional educational training at the Jagged Edge Barbers High Street venue – while downstairs in the ‘Man Cave’ the trainees will be seeing how to deliver the latest cuts.”
The demand for fashion barbering has rocketed in recent years and Jagged Edge Barbers is ahead of the curve with four venues in Bedford, Sandy, Clapham and the “pod” at Kempston Interchange.
Ladies’ hair and nail clients who visited the Jagged Edge High Street venue are being advised of how to keep in touch with their preferred stylists and technicians. Beauty services for men and women continue to be provided at Jagged Edge in Clapham.
