The Festival of Lights was a huge success, It was attended by the Mayor Dave Hodgson who was the chief guest, the other guests included Conservative MP Richard Fuller , Patrick Hall  MP Labour Candidate , High Sheriff Colin Osborne, Ray Levene from Bedford BID (Love Bedford) and  various community leaders also attended the event and made the event a truly multicultural event.

The Dhol procession started from the town centre at 2.30pm and concluded at the Corn exchange, High Sheriff and other dignitaries along with the Chair of BIC (Bedford Indian Community) took part in the procession.

The event started at 3 pm and concluded about 9 pm. The musical and dance performances enthralled the audiences. Magic show by Adrian Ward was another interesting programme which was a crowd pleaser.
The turnout was in excess of 2500 people this time and people were seen queuing outside the Corn exchange.

The Howard room in the Corn exchange was jam packed; this room housed the various stalls which included Indian dresses, Jewellery, Health and Fitness, Unison etc.

North Indian and South Indian food were also available in addition to Italian food.

‘Overall it was the biggest and best event so far by the Bedford Indian Community’ said the Chair of BIC, Ramprasad Bangaru and the 8 founder members were very pleased by the outcome of 10 months of hard work in planning and execution. We look forward to see you for the Festival of lights 2015!
