Possibly the best loved of Haydn's choral works 'The Creation' is a setting of the story from Genesis. From the opening 'Representation of Chaos', the blazing forth of light, the use of word painting to represent 'pain' and various animals, the events of the story are all depicted in marvellous musical imagination. Haydn's great theatrical sense permeates the whole of this work. If you are not familiar with this masterpiece of musical creation then this is a concert not to be missed. With three outstanding soloists to complete the line-up you are guaranteed a wonderful evening.
