With his early musical roots firmly in soul and jazz Kev Beadle was been one of London’s underground club scene's most respected selector/tastemakers for over 30 years.

He has played all over the world entertaining crowds with his selections and is never afraid to push musical boundaries playing a broad spectrum of music rooted in jazz and soul from days gone by right through to today's future electronica and beyond. 

From the pirate radio days of the mid 80’s presenting shows on Starpoint, K-Jazz, as well as the odd show for Kiss FM he has continued a strong radio presence with his very popular weekly Mind Fluid show on internet and sky digital station Solar Radio which broadcast for over 18 years.



Apart from guesting at clubs all over Europe, Japan and the USA, over the years Kev has also been involved as a resident DJ at some of London’s most popular club sessions including the Monday nights at The Wag with Gilles Peterson, Sylvester, Baz Fe Jazz etc, Walk On The Wild Side, The Fez in the basement of the Great Western Hotel in Paddington as well as being one of the original DJs along with Gilles Peterson and Bob Jones to start the legendary Sunday Afternoon sessions at Dingwalls in Camden.

He was also a long standing resident DJ/programmer in the Jazz Room and Beat Bar at the Southport Weekender for over 20 years as well as initiating the weekender’s spin-off event SunceBeat Festival in Croatia.



With a discography in double figures, Kev has put together some well received compilation albums since the early 90’s for labels like Blue Note (Capitol Rare series), Cadet (Argo/Cadet Grooves) as well as more upfront musical offerings (Nu Jazz Generation 1 &2) for his own label Clean Up and BBE.

In recent years he has been back compiling LPs for BBE with his own ‘Kev Beadle Presents Private Collection’ series with Volume 3 just released in October 2017. Other compilations for BBE include ‘The Best Of Inner City Records’ released in 2016 and will be releasing ‘Private Collection 4’ for the label in the near future,

He has also released productions and remixes under the name Messengers and R.K. Edits and has some more new music coming out very soon under the R.K. production name.



Apart from being a club, radio presenter he has had experience in many sides of the music industry including running his own label Clean Up Records in the mid 90’s, promotion, distribution and retail, working in and working in some of Soho’s most infamous record shops in the early 90’s including Soul Jazz Records (before it became Sounds Of The Universe), Mr Bongo and Release The Groove.



Unfortunately in the summer of 2016 Kev decided to retire from the professional DJ business and take some time out from playing in clubs and presenting on radio, but being a lover of great quality music for so many years he couldn’t stop completely, so Kev has gone back to his musical roots and collecting rare vinyl once again and still enjoys guesting at the odd UK and international event and will be back presenting a new regular radio show again very soon.
