Miserere by Candlelight
Saturday 24 February 2018
Join us for a candlelit performance of Gregorio Allegri’s iconic Miserere and James MacMillan’s haunting and highly personal response to it. The evening features old and new paired settings of the same texts, including works by Purcell, Gabrieli, Lauridsen and Tavener and a new commission from Bedford-based composer Duncan Fraser.
Gaude is Bedford’s professional chamber choir and includes past and present members of some of this country’s most celebrated choirs, including King’s, St John’s and Trinity Colleges in Cambridge, New College Oxford and The Sixteen. A thrilling evening of unaccompanied singing awaits.
