'Stories for Children': Christmas Tree Festival
6-10 December
This year's annual must-see festival of 60 Christmas trees decorated to the theme of ‘Stories for Children’ runs from 6-10 December at St Paul's church, St Paul's Sq, Bedford, MK40 1SQ. Julia Jarman, local author of children’s books, will open the Festival at 10.45 am on Wednesday 6 December, followed by the first of daily choral concerts by local schools and community groups.
Festival opening hours: Wednesday-Saturday 10 am-5 pm
Sunday 12 noon-4 pm
Admission £2.50. Children under 16 free

'Where are Mr Toad and his friends?' is the free children's competition running throughout the festival. Julia Jarman is presenting four of her own books as prizes suitable for children aged 0-12 yrs. She will also sign copies of her many books for sale, immediately following the opening on 6 December.
The Festival Concert on Saturday 9 December at 7.00 pm features Cellophony, the octet of cellos that played to a packed house in 2015. Richard Birchall will lead Cellophony in a wide selection of music to suit all ages including his latest composition – 'Wind in the Willows', with a narrator.

Help to raise £10,000 to be shared between the Church and The Bedford Hospitals Charity, some of whose proceeds will be for The Primrose Car Service.
